Community Service Report 2018-19

This year continues to see the Rotary Club of Inverell East heavily involved in projects to assist the Community and Schools of the area.

The major project again this year has been the May Street park. This project was started in 2011 and continues to develop with the support of Inverell Shire Council through Anthony Alliston. Consistent watering of new shrubs, trees and grass and regular mowing by members have the place looking very attractive even though we are experiencing severe drought.

Major events, Inverell’s Got Talent and the River Run, have involved many members over long periods of time. Events such as Inverell’s Got Talent and The River Run provide an opportunity for members of the public to perform and develop their skills. They also help raise funds that are used to support numerous people and local groups.

Although the Copeton Swim didn’t run because of the drought there were many meetings and lots of organising throughout the year planning for the event before the hard decision had to be made to cancel for this year.

The Chip Van continues to involve many members and supports community functions throughout the year.
