Community Service Report 2017-18
This year continues to see the Rotary Club of Inverell East heavily involved in projects to assist the Community and Schools of the area.
The major project for this year has continued to be the May Street park. This project was started in 2011 and continues to develop with the support of Inverell Shire Council through Anthony Alliston. The area has been grassed over, an irrigation system has been installed and with regular mowing by members is appealing to many locals looking to take time out and enjoy the view.
Major events, including Inverell’s Got Talent, the River Run, the Copeton Freshwater Swim and the Duck Race, have involved many members over long periods of time. Events such as Inverell’s Got Talent, The River Run and Copeton Swim provide an opportunity for members of the public to perform and develop their skills. They also help raise funds that are used to support numerous people and local groups.
The Chip Van continues to involve many members and supports community functions throughout the year.
