Community Service Report 2015-16
This year continues to see the Rotary Club of Inverell East heavily involved in projects to assist the Community and Schools of the area.
The major project for this year has continued to be the May Street park. This has moved along very quickly with Inverell Shire Council support through Anthony Alliston. The boys from Clontarf at Inverell High School have assisted members with maintaining the cleanliness. This has been a great help. Through Council we now have members of the Jobs Australia Work for the Dole project also assisting which means that the Community of Inverell have another magnificent park to enjoy.
Major events include Inverell’s Got Talent, The River Run, District Conference and Copeton Freshwater Swim and the Duck race have involved many members over long periods of time. Events such as Inverell’s Got Talent, The River Run and Copeton Swim provide an opportunity for members of the public to perform and develop their skills. They also help raise funds that are used to support numerous people and bodies.
The Chip Van continues to involve many members supporting many community functions throughout the year.
