Service 2014-15

Service performed and sponsorship by Inverell East Rotary Club this 2014 15 year

Major project (East Rotary Park) and events (Inverell’s Got Talent, The River Run, District Conference and Copeton Swim) have involved many members over long periods of time.

 

Events such as Inverell’s Got Talent, The River Run and Copeton Swim provide an opportunity for members of the public to perform and develop their skills. They also help raise funds that are used to support numerous people and bodies.

  • Started erecting East Rotary Park fence

July

  • Transport Museum – help move cars to new site
  • Support at Inverell High – “Don’t Be a Statistic”
  • New Zealand Exchange – support for girls Teagan McLachlan and Hannah Tomlinson-Gils
  • Construction of slabs at East Rotary Park for picnic tables with help from IHS student

August

  • Erection of picnic tables at East Rotary Park
  • Inverell Eisteddfod door keepers

September

  • International aid Fundraising garden party at the home of Noel & Miriam Daley

October

  • Interview skill development with Ashford students
  • River Run
  • Inverell’s Got Talent – auditions and main event
  • Support of Public Speaking entrant Hannah Worsley who wins Zone Final and later District 9650 final at the District Conference

November

  • Duck Race – ticket sales to business houses and also on the street
  • Sapphire City Parade marshalling
  • Sapphire City Festival – Chip Van

December

  • Inverell High School – Year 9 job interviews
  • Apex Venetian Carnival – chip van
  • Honeywell Engineering – support for Mitch Lennon, Nick Thompson, Jeremy Irons trip to Sydney

January

  • NYSF – support for Hannah Worsley and Claudia Mallorey – Hannah later selected to go to London

February

March

  • District Conference – joined Inverell, Bingara and Warialda clubs to run conference
  • National Transport Museum Motor Show – manning of gates
  • NZ exchange – support for Olivia Fowke and Mikayla Dal Santo and incoming students Gemma O’Rouke and Sahba Jackson
  • Toughen up Challenge – volunteer support on the day
  • Science & Engineering Challenge volunteers

  • Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) involving 29schools throughout the district – assistance with setup, BBQ, billeting and various positions at the assembly
