Changeover for Inverell East Rotary Club 2024

The Changeover celebration for Inverell East Rotary Club, held at the RSM Club on Tuesday, 25th June, 2024, proved to be a function worthy of the seriousness of the occasion. Outgoing President Julie Clendinning went all out to setting the scene with beautifully set tables, glowing candle light, hanging banners representing the clubs of visiting Rotarians and the serving of a delicious meal.

MC, Tim Newberry, kept the program moving and guests involved as he moved through the protocols for the evening. There were several highlights that made the evening special. DGE 9660 Bruce George responded to the Toast to Rotary International. This was followed by a recital of home-grown poetry by Murray Hartin. Lots of laughter rewarded the high quality of his craft.

Rotarian Aaron Perkins spoke about “What is a Rotarian?”.  His message highlighted the Four Way Test and the Object of Rotary and the personal commitment required by each individual member. Then the presentation of the Paul Harris Fellow to Ann Clydsdale came as no surprise. Ann’s dedication and commitment to her local community over several decades made her selection an easy choice.

The investiture of Incoming President Barry Mason, the purpose of the Changeover Dinner, was carried out with solemnity and respect for the ideals of Rotary. After President Barry introduced his Board of Directors for the coming year the evening concluded with the National Anthem and a great deal of fellowship.

Congratulations and best wishes were extended to Barry and his board for the coming year.
