Stars Foundation

Our guests this week were Bernice, Kylie, Heidi and Ruby representing this great concept

Well introduced by the dynamic duo from Inverell High, Principal Wayne and Deputy Principal Aaron were this dynamic group of young women.

“Why is there a support and opportunities  for the Aboriginal boys and not the girls?” asked Wayne as the Clontarf Foundation has been such a success. Many other voices agreed

There are 63 girls involved with the programme at Inverell High School offering young girls. IHS is one of only four schools in NSW offering Stars

It has been in operation for five years and operates under the following structure:-
Healthy Lifestyle eg shopping, cooking, sporting etc
Wellbeing They have a beauty stand for hair, makeup etc
Community Culture and Leadership Hosted the NSW Governor this year who was so impressed that she has invited girls to Government House later this year
Education Training and Employment

We were delighted to hear from Heidi and Ruby with their stories and answering questions.

Kylie gave us an account of her life and has been involved with the programme for some time now. She has found it to be a very motivating experience for the girls.
